New, Second Hand or Ex Demo?
A pool table is an investment. If you buy right, it will provide decades on fun with minimal ongoing cost. If you buy wrong, then you may well end up with a lemon. Follow our suggestions to minimise your risk.
- Always, always, always but a slate bed table. Board tables are cheaper but are susceptible to warping within as little as a few months. A second hand slate bed table will most likely be better (and less trouble) than a brand new board top table.
- If you plan to buy second hand : BEWARE! Some tables are just so poorly constructed that you may struggle to level them. Plus, remember to factor in possible extra costs such as new cloth, new cushion rubbers and table relocation.
- Consider an ex demo or used pool table. We usually have a couple of ex coin op models that have been sat in our showroom that we are looking to shift on. They might have some minor cosmetic issues but if you are saving hundreds against the RRP then we think that you will easily see past them. Get in touch to find out more.
